Chan during his teenage years in Hong Kong.

Studied physics at Iowa State
University and UCLA from 1966 till 1969 in the US.

Took up Photography as a serious
interest in 1972 in Hong Kong.

Studied photography at the Ryerson
Polytechnical University in Toronto, Canada in 1976 and graduated
with a B.A. degree in 1980.

First one-man exhibition of his
landscape photographs at Toronto�s High Park Library in 1980.
l
Joint photographic and calligraphic
exhibition with writer Mr. Jay Payne at the Ontario Institute for
Studies in Education in Toronto, 1980.
l
Participated in a group show called
�China Week� at McMaster University in Toronto, 1981.
l
Took up an interest in dance
photography with dancer Andrea Davidson and Paras Terezakis�s
Kinesis Dance in Toronto 1981 and worked with them in multi-media
(slide, dance and music) presentations both in Montreal and Toronto
(musician was Westly Lowe).
Went Back to Hong Kong in Dec. 1981

Worked for advertising agencies in
all areas of photography.

One-man photo exhibition called
�Visionary Space� at Hong Kong Art Centre in 1984.

One-man photo exhibition at Fringe
Festival in 1985.

Taught photography at the Design
First Art School.

Took pictures of actors and
actresses for Golden Harvest Film Co.

Started Vision Nouvelle Photo
Studio in Hong Kong from 1987 to 1990.

During his ten years stay in Hong
Kong, he had traveled to cities and scenic spots in China, Taiwan
and Nepal for personal projects.
His photographs were published in local photographic and
travel magazines. He
again picked up his interest in dance photography with
dancer-choreographer Miranda Chin.
Moved to Vancouver, BC, Canada in 1991

Started Vision Nouvelle Photo Studio.
l
Won Silver Award for creativity in
Toronto�s Studio Magazine in 1994 (works represented being
hand-tinted black and white photos of Xian, China).
l
Taught photography at Fotocine
Workshop.
l
Assigned as official photographer
in 1994 and 1995 for �Miss Vancouver Chinatown Beauty Pageant�.
l
Participated in local photo
exhibitions at the Exposure Gallery, Fotocine Workshop, the �Asian
Heritage Month�, 1995 and 1996.
l
Official photographer for the
�Lifestyle and Entertainment Magazine� since 1996.
l
Photographer for Vancouver�s
modern dance group, The Kokoro Dance, The Kinesis Dance, and
Jumpstart Performance.
l
First solo exhibition at Chinatown
Art Gallery in Feb. 1998, titled �Dance for Life�.
l
Still photographer for the Westly
Lowe�s film �Hanging Out� and Jari Osborne�s NFB film
�Unwanted Soldier�, 1998. Bollywood
Bound.
